NORTHERN ITALY
tours for seniors & slow walkers
Easy Israel Tours has been successfully running tours since 2017 for seniors and slow walkers.
Guests often ask if we do Easy tours anywhere else.
With a war on in Israel and our planned tours cancelled, Trish Duke, owner of Easy Israel Tours (a retired physical therapist)
had time to check out Italy and choose one of the most beautiful parts of this amazing country.
As with Easy Israel Tours, we use comfortable, clean hotels with walk-in showers and elevators to upper floors.
Our itinerary is at a gentle pace, with less steps, standing and walking than regular tours.
As usual, Trish escorts the groups to ensure guests have the best tour possible!

This small, exclusive Italian tour has a maximum of 15 guests
and is purely a vacation type of tour.
We have planned an itinerary that you gives more flexibility each day to have some independence
at times and moving together at your choice. Less structured than the Easy Israel tours itinerary,
but still well organised.
Some people like to stay together all the time and others want the option to explore on their own sometimes.

The cost is the same as the Israel tours US$5,999 for 10 nights (per person sharing a room)
Single supplement is an additional US$1,600
Included in the cost is bed and breakfast in each hotel, plus transportation, plus entrance fees
to places of interest and a day ticket to ferries on both Lake Como and Lake Garda.
All hotel rooms have walk-in showers.
We have chosen hotels that are easy walking distance to the sites or ferries.
Italian hotels don't do an evening meal for groups like they do in Israel.
That can be boring after a few days with the same type of buffet in the hotels in Israel.
In Italy we will be out during the day, so have lunch as we sightsee.
Our Italian hotels are near cafes so you choose to eat anywhere in the evening and
wander in the neighbourhood....or not eat at all and just sample the local wines!
No-one will eat alone (unless they choose to) as Trish would enjoy
sharing a meal with anyone or leave you to explore locally.

The itinerary includes:
Milan, Lake Como, Brescia, Lake Garda, Verona and Venice.

Friday 3rd October check-in at Hotel Pierre Milano (Milan) for one night.
We will eat together that evening.
If you choose to arrive early we can discuss that extra night.
Many guests like to arrive at least one day early to recover from jet lag and have a wander.
The App 'Google Translate' will be useful to download on your phone.

Saturday 4th we have breakfast then checkout, leaving our luggage with the hotel concierge while we explore Milan.
We visit the famous La Scala Opera House and Museum, then the Duomo (cathedral) and enjoy a couple of hours
browsing and eating at Milan's oldest shopping centre, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.
We return to the hotel to pick up our luggage and the bus that drives us up to Lake Como.
Here we are staying at the Albergo Le Due Corti hotel in Como (for three nights)...
a 10 minutes stroll to the lake through the shops and cafes.

Sunday 5th is a busy day in Lake Como with locals from Milan coming out to play!
It's just over an hour's drive from Milan.
The scenery is breathtaking!
Explore the Duomo in the old town and upmarket shops, including the oldest silk shop.
You can hire a mini speed boat to drive yourself around the nearby part of the lake.
Or look online... you can spoil yourself and book a private speed boat tour (with bubbly).
That's rather special.
You can book that for any number up to 6 people.
We can discuss sharing a private boat if some you want to do that....
take a close up peek at the Clooney house... and more!
In the late afternoon you might like to go up the Brunate Funicular railway
for a spectacular view of the lake and Swiss mountains beyond.

Monday 6th is quieter on the lake with less day trippers from Milan.
We plan to take local ferries around the Lake with a day ferry pass.
You can go off on your own and visit stops along the way as you fancy
or come with us to Bellagio and the Melzi Gardens.

Tuesday 7th We leave Lake Como to head to Lake Garda for three nights.
On the way we stop at Brescia, a charming old town with
a UNESCO Heritage site
An escort meets us and shows us around, but you can 'do your own thing'
if you prefer and meet us back at the bus.

At Lake Garda we stay for three nights at the Hotel Flaminia, Sirmione.
This is another historic little place with a castle.
The hotel is adjacent to the ferry terminal. (We are Easy Italy tours!)
Wednesday 8th We will start the day with a boat trip around the southern part of the lake
and then have time to explore Sirmione at leisure.
Thursday 9th You have a day ferry pass to explore places around Lake Garda.
Either with Trish or independently.
The ferries on Lake Como and Lake Garda are used by locals to get to work,
home or shopping so they stop all over the lake in quaint villages.
