Easy Israel Tours Christian group at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem
Our tours are designed and escorted by Trish Duke, an Int'l physical therapist who understands
senior's likes and dislikes as well as their possible mobility issues and health challenges...
and their preference to be led politely, not herded!

As the Founder of Easy Israel Tours (in 2017), Trish is passionate
and engaged in giving YOU personal attention.
Trish is also a non-denominational licensed Christian minister.

A fully licensed local guide is part of our highly experienced team along with our driver
and agent in Jerusalem who books all the hotels, transportation, site visits etc.

Our itinerary is not a disability tour, but if you can get up the coach steps
with a handrail independently then the itinerary is accessible...
with minimal walking, standing, slopes or rough ground.

Our excellent 4 star hotels have ensuite bathrooms with a walk-in shower.
That works if you are less-able or very

We all walk at the same pace on two feet or with a cane , walker or one of our hired sit-on scooters,
so no-one struggles to keep up or is frustrated by the slower pace!

Itinerary for Israel tours for senior and slow walkers

Because we shuffle the days and times of the places we visit we don't give out a detailed itinerary.
This is the framework for our itineraries of 'must see' places ...
then we add other interesting places where and when we can!

View of Tel Aviv from Jaffa
Monday Day # 1
As our travellers are flying in from around the world on different flights our arrival day is a time to rest
and explore Tel Aviv on your own... if you have the energy after a long flight.
We meet at sunset for welcome drinks and dinner overlooking the Mediterranean sea

Day # 2
This morning we tour Tel Aviv and Jaffa in the bus with Chaim our guide giving us
an interesting commentary.
You will be surprised how many times Jaffa is mentioned in the Bible!

Tel Aviv is Israel’s second largest city on the country's Mediterranean coastline.
The city was founded in 1909 by Jewish immigrants on the outskirts of the ancient port
of Jaffa. Israelites are reputed to play in Tel Aviv and pray in Jerusalem!
Picture
Iconic Bauhaus architecture
We enjoy a guided drive along the Rothschild Boulevard of today with its shops, high rise buildings and theatres,
 admiring
the famous the UNESCO heritage ‘White City’ with 4,000 Bauhaus buildings,
built by German Jewish architects.
.

Can you
imagine what it was like for the first sixty-six Jewish families who had to dig the first well
in a sand dune and used sea shells as boundary fences?!

Picture
Chaim guides our Christian groups with 15 years of experience. He is a Jewish believer in Jesus. Be inspired and informed by his wisdom and knowledge of the Holy Land
Jaffa (Yafo) which is part of Tel Aviv steeped in history.
Saladin, Richard the Lionheart and Napoleon all conquered it at different times.
Jonah set sail from here before he ended up in the whale’s belly.
Peter raised the widow Dorcas from the dead in Biblical Joppa and later on had his vision
of the sheet descending with clean and unclean animals.
Picture
View of Tel Aviv from Yafo/Jaffa
The Hall of Independence is part of Israel's history from 1948
It is closed for renovations, but we stop and see the outside of this important building
Picture
It's a three hour pleasant drive to the Galilee and on the way...
we stop at the Roman port of Caesarea, drive through the Jezreel valley
and visit Mount Precipice overlooking Nazareth.
Picture
Amphitheatre in Caesarea that is still used for concerts etc
Caesarea is an important site in Christian history.
It was the place where Pontius Pilate governed during the time of Jesus.
We can stand in the ruins of the room where Paul delivered his famous speech to Felix and Festus.
Paul was also imprisoned here for two years.
This was where Simon Peter talked to Cornelius, the first Roman citizen to believe in Jesus.

We pass ample evidence of the Bible prophecy of how Israel would become ‘a desert blooming like a rose’.
Picture
Plain of Megiddo
We drive alongside the plain of Megiddo.

Known for its historical, geographical location on trade routes and
theological importance, especially under its Greek name Armageddon.
Many people believe that Bible prophecy places Megiddo as a significant gathering
place for enemy military in readiness for WW3

Picture
Overlooking Nazareth
Amid pleasant scenery is Nazareth, where Jesus spent his boyhood.
Enjoy the view from Mount Precipice which is a great lookout over Nazareth.
This is where the locals tried to throw Jesus off the cliff.
Travelling on through more beautiful scenery to Galilee where we spend three nights at Tiberius.
Your first view of the Sea of Galilee can be quite emotive.
People ask what the weather will be like...
The average day temperatures in Israel for our tours is:
May and October 25 Centigrade/77 Fahrenheit Dry
November 20C/68F
Perfect touring weather...not too hot or too cool

Picture
Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights
Tuesday afternoon to Friday...
We visit the following sites, but not always in the same order...
Picture
Capernaum…a very special place!
This was where Jesus based his ministry from Peter’s house in Capernaum.
It was also the home of James, Andrew and John and Matthew the tax collector.
Jesus taught in the local synagogue and preached from a boat off the nearby beach.
Walk where Jesus walked!
You will never be the same again!
We only visit authentic Biblical sites.
Build your faith!

Visit the Yigal Alon boat museum.
The Ancient Galilee Boat was a fishing boat from the 1st century AD,
discovered in 1986 on the north-west shore of the sea of Galilee.
The remains of the boat first appeared during drought,
when the waters of the Sea (actually a fresh-water lake) receded.

This is the type and size of boat that Jesus traveled around and across to the other side of the sea of Galilee
during his ministry. It makes the gospels more real when they tell us about the storm and preaching
from a boat off the shore in Capernaum.

This is also a good coffee stop with an excellent souvenir store.
Non-shoppers can explore more of the museum or enjoy views of the lake.
The sailing boat jetty is just behind...
Picture
Sailing in our private boat on the Sea of Galilee
The boat ride on the Sea of Galilee is one of the highlights of any tour!
The engines are turned off in the middle of the lake to let you enjoy the serenity,
history and God's presence!
You can hop out if you want to try your skills at walking on water!
The crew can demonstrate how the ancient fishermen used to cast their nets.
We sing and dance... it's glorious!

Tabgha church

Tabgha is best known for Christ's miraculous multiplication of loaves and fish to feed a multitude.
The image here is of the mosaic in the church floor.
The beach nearby is thought to be where the risen Christ cooked breakfast for the disciples
after they had been unsuccessfully fishing all night.
Picture
Mount of Beatitudes hillside
The hillside beside the church has special acoustics which made it a perfect place for Jesus to preach
the Sermon on the Mount. We'll enjoy the peace and spectacular view.
Picture
A special church in Magdala to pray in...
Magdala Archeological Park
This was the home of Mary Magdalene and the Synagogue where Jesus preached.
It's one of the most recently excavated sites with a beautiful, newly built church.
The pulpit is a replica of the type of fishing boat used in Jesus' lifetime.
River Jordan baptisms
Many of the guests decide to be baptised or re-dedicate themselves in the river Jordan at the Kibbutz Yardinet.
Even if you have been baptised before, this can be an anointed moment in your life.
Trish Duke, the tour leader, is a licensed minister and will be directing the baptisms with two strong people
who will assist to keep you safe.
Some people prefer to baptise themselves, like the Jewish tradition of a Mikva.
We have access to a chair lift into the railed off part of the river,
so everyone who wants to can safely participate.
Picture
After our three nights in the Galilee we start the pleasant 3 hour journey to Ein Bokek, on the Dead Sea
with interesting sites en route...so you won't feel 'stuck' on the coach!

You can even ride a camel for a for a few minutes at one of our bathroom stops.
A Bio Tour of Sde-Eliyahu Kibbutz is the next stop heading south.
This is still a traditional, fully socialist agricultural kibbutz, founded by German Jews in the 70’s.
They were pioneers of organic farming, as well as world leaders in developing the bugs that eat the
bugs that eat the fruit and vegetables that humans eat! Their Bio bees will fascinate you as well.

We continue the enjoyable drive down the Jordan valley past Jericho.

Jericho is thought to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world.
There is an abundance of history here with Bible references to Joshua and the walls,
Rahab the prostitute, Herod, Zacchaeus climbing the tree to see Jesus…
We have two glorious nights at the Dead Sea ... the lowest place on earth
(not just the usual quick dip in a public beach as on regular tours).
Ein Bokek, is an exclusive strip of hotels with private beaches.
You can only get in if you are staying there...no day trippers and large tour buses.
Being half way through the tour, this is a time to recharge your energy batteries.
Benefit from the Dead Sea minerals in the water, mud and air.
You will feel so relaxed after this stop...and have skin like a baby's bottom!

Swim and float on your own or join the group and enjoy fun in the sun.
The beach is right outside the back door of the hotel.

Picture
On Sunday morning we check-out of the hotel to start the day with an exciting trip to Masada
on our way up to Jerusalem!

It's only 10 minutes drive to visit the spectacular Masada, Herod's summer palace
You'll love the safe cable car (built in Switzerland)!

Picture
Masada. King Herod's summer palace
After the audio-visual history of Masada, we go up the cable car to see the most spectacular view of the Dead Sea.
The siege of Masada was one of the final events in the First Jewish–Roman War, occurring from 73 to 74 CE and
chronicled by Flavius Josephus, a Jewish rebel leader captured by the Romans, in whose service he became a historian.
This is one of the most memorable sites on tour.
Picture
Judean mountains where King Saul chased David and his men
We visit the accessible part of the  Ein Gedi National Park in the Judean mountains,
where David hid in caves with his men to avoid King Saul.
Look out for the ibex (deer) that the Bible talks about panting for water!
Picture
Psalm 42v1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul thirsts after you
We also spend time wandering in the Ein Gedi Botanical Gardens in the adjacent kibbutz
Our next stop as we drive along the Dead Sea is to see the Qumran caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
The caves are too high and far into the cliff for our group to walk up to so we just stop and view the area
Picture
Where the Dead Sea scrolls were found
At Jericho, we turn up the hill for an hour’s drive to Jerusalem for four nights.
The road follows the ancient route that Jesus walked on and is the scene of the parable of the Good Samaritan.

We saved the best for last...The four nights in Jerusalem!
So much to see and experience.
Picture
The glory over Jerusalem
The Kotel (Western or Wailing Wall)
The Western Wall is actually a supporting wall for the site of the Temple Mount and an important Holy site for Jews.
Traditionally, people leave written prayers in the wall cracks.
There are plenty of chairs for you sit and pray next to Christians and Jews from around the world.
Picture
Picture
Where Jesus walked
Walk on the Southern Steps where Jesus entered the Temple and Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost
Picture
The Garden Tomb
Garden tomb and Golgotha
General Charles Gordon, on a visit to Jerusalem in 1883,  spied a prominent rocky crag which looked
to him like it could be the 'place of the skull' or Golgotha mentioned in the Bible as where Jesus was crucified.
Around the corner, Gordon identified an ancient tomb and putting the two together believed he had located
the hill of crucifixion and the nearby burial place.

The Garden Tomb is believed by many to be the garden and sepulchre of Joseph of Arimathea and therefore
a possible site of the resurrection of Jesus. This is a very special place for Christian visitors to Israel.

We enjoy a short tour of the well-kept gardens and share communion here.
Another place that many guests say was 'the' highlight.
Picture
Lucinda (with Eddie) says...
"I now read the Gospels in technicolour (instead of black and white) after being in Israel.
Highlights for me include...the boat trip on the Galilee, the Dead Sea and communion at the Garden Tomb.
In all it was a truly special  and memorable trip. Thank you, thank you, thank you xx"
Mount of Olives look-out
Separated from the Eastern Hill (the Temple Mount and the City of David) by the Kidron Valley,
the Mt. of Olives has always been an important feature in Jerusalem’s landscape.
It has a spectacular view of  Jerusalem.
Picture
Garden of Gethsemane & Church of all Nations
This olive grove is the place that Jesus and his disciples went to after their Passover meal and where Jesus was arrested.
Around this beautiful 'Church of all Nations' are ancient olive trees where we have a time of reflection.

These olive trees are 2,000 years old

Picture
A possible option is a visit to the interactive Museum of Hebrew Music in Jerusalem.

Picture
You will be 'wowed' by the spectacular Friends of Zion museum.
It's more of and experience than a museum.
Picture
Shrine to the children
Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum is another emotive place to visit.
To explore in full would take several hours, so we usually allow a couple of hours
to get an impression as well as paying our respects.
Picture
Mamilla shopping street
Mamilla shopping street is one of our favorite lunch stops
Picture
Church of Galicantu
The church of Galicantu is on the site of the house of the High Priest, Caiaphas.
This is where the Roman soldiers took Jesus to from the Garden of Gethsemane.
See the possible pit where they threw Jesus into over night before his crucifixion.
It's also the sight where the cock crowed three times as Peter denied his Lord.
Picture
Learn modern history of the Jews at Herzl Experience
Israel is master at multi-media 'museums' where you experience history!
Picture
Bethlehem
Bethlehem is only 30 minutes from Jerusalem!
The birthplace of Jesus.

This used to be an 80% Christian city and 20% Muslin.
Now the ratio is reversed, therefore not always safe for us to visit as a group.
However, we have a Christian taxi driver who has family living in Bethlehem, so
we can arrange for him to take you there privately if we can't take the group.
Where there's a will there's a way!

Western Wall and Temple Mount
Wednesday is the last day of touring ending with our farewell dinner in the evening.
We have shared so much on tour and become a travelling family...it's hard to say "Goodbye"!

Thursday is the official end of the tour... After a good night's sleep you can have breakfast at your leisure before the 11am checkout.
Many guests choose to add another night at the end of the tour rather than rushing off to the airport.
Those extra hours are invaluable for shopping, exploring more of Jerusalem...or just resting before the journey home...
with a multitude of special memories.
Concierge can take care of your luggage if you have a flight later in the day.
Truly, the Holy Land is a trip that you will never forget !  A perfect 'bucket list' tour.

You will not just see authentic, famous sites, but also the history, the varied scenery, the archaeology, the diverse cultures and the people...

Whether you have been to Israel before or not, this will be a memorable....and comfortable tour for you.

Personally, as a Christian since 1969, I feel God's presence in Israel more than any other place on earth... it's His Land!

I would be honoured if you would come with me to the special land of Israel.

Hi, I’m Sally from Australia, 84 years young!
I give this tour 5 stars!
Very good organisation.
I loved the classy, comfortable, clean hotels.
The food was 1st class. Huge variety of quality dishes and so fresh.
The lunches on tour were excellent. Different every day.
Comfortable bus. All the ladies fell in love with Bil-al our bus driver.
He was so polite and so obliging… bringing out walkers from under the bus in record time.
Tal, the guide is the most amazing woman.
Polite, helpful, inspiring, passionate, so well informed.
She brought the Bible to life.
Trish Duke, our tour leader gets 10/10 for her organisation and caring skills.
She adjusted the pace at each site according to the abilities of the guests.
The whole tour was wonderful and I would do it again tomorrow if it wasn’t a 30-hour journey from Australia to Israel…and I had the money!
I loved the whole tour, but a couple of highlights were so memorable to me.
The first highlight was arriving in Tel Aviv and setting foot on The Land.
Masada with the spectacular view over the Dead Sea and the history that has always fascinated me was another place I will never forget.

Picture
IVY (second from the right) with some of the group...at the top of Masada.

Ivy wrote a review on TripAdvisor...

Trish Duke was a very caring and well-organised tour leader.
She always had the care and comfort of the guests as her first concern.

The amazing Easy Israel Tour was due to her many trips previously.
It meant that we saw so many wonderful sites, enjoyed fabulous hotels, interesting and
very fresh delights at every meal.

Our group got on very well and were considerate of each other’s needs especially as I needed a walking frame.
It was for me a wonderful trip and I particularly felt connected to Israel when I was able to plant a tree in
remembrance of my late daughter, Zoe.

I had to take two long haul flights from Australia to Israel…quite a journey, but it was worth the effort!

It was indeed a most interesting and informative trip and I just wish I could do it all again. as there was so much
to see and do.

All credit to Trish.
